Marked position and drilled cleco holes for canopy latch striker stud. After placing canopy side frame with latch into position it was found to extend pass flushness with fuselage. Removed canopy latch striker stud from Charles 601 to test fit on Paul's 601. Striker latch from Charles 601 is larger than that of Paul's. This however did not help with the flushness of the side frame to the fuselage. Adjusting side frame several times but it did not help with flushness. Contacted technical support at Zenith air who recommended that the side frame be bent to match the contour of the fuselage. Started bending side frames, had mechanical problem with the large vice that was being used to bend side frame.
