Brief Description:  More work on right wingtip

Lots of head scratching today and busy-work to keep my hands busy while I pondered. I laid out the rivet line on the nose skin for the fiberglass wingtip part. The problem is that the fiberglass part in not really close in shape to the actual shape of the tip! After confurring with some of the builders in KPB's it was decided that the drilling needs to begin right at the nose of the part to pull it tight to the front and then work back towards the spar. I laid out an estimated rivet line on the fiberglass part by positioning it and then marking the position on the part through the drilled rivet line on the nose skin. I then connected the dots to make a reference line. That way I can be pretty sure I have not twisted the part while drilling which would be VERY easy.

While pondering on all of the above, I made a masonite template of the rear part of the wingtip out of masonite. I also made a masonite template for the installation of the tip strobes and used it to locate and drill the fiberglass for the lights. I DROPPED THE LENS while checking the fit of the light and it broke into a billion pieces. Definitely not tempered glass. I ordered a new green lens!

Mark at CanZac tells me my FWF and engine should arrive mid-Dec. I am hopeful but not holding my breath. It would make an awesome Christmas present for myself!
