Brief Description:  Spar work and rib sub-assemblies

I am not sure why, but progress seemed to be in slow motion this evening.

The first task was to study the spar and mark it for orientation on both the front and back, tip and root. No room to make a stupid mistake on such a critical component. All of the ribs were deburred to ensure the lightening holes were smooth.

Assembly started on the wing spars. I had to attach the spar tips (6W5-1) to both spars and add the 'L' angle on the outboard tip. I also had to drill (#40) the rivet lines for the RR#9 and matching front rib. Parts were disassembled, deburred, primed and the spar tips were riveted to the main spar.

Next I laid out and drilled the bellcrank support channel and aileron bellcrank support to RR#7 for both wings. The channel had to be trimmed to fit properly per the instructions. The bushing and AN3 bolt were used to ensure proper spacing between the bellcrank supports. Parts were disassembled, deburred, primed and riveted together.

Finally I rough cut the three different lengths of 'L' angle that fit between RR#1-4 to make the ribs more rigid for the wing walks. Twenty-four pieces in all were cut. The shortest pieces will need some trimming to fit properly.

Tomorrow I will start with adding the stiffeners to the inner ribs. Not to sure how much work I will get done as I have to get ready for the first round of golf of the season!
