Brief Description: Little things and started on the landing lights
A bit of a clean-up start to the day:
- I finished installing the wiring conduit in the wing (Vans style). Worked great - I installed the aileron bellcrank and control rod - I installed the aileron throw stop, but only to the main part of the spar and not rivited to the bottom. Why? Well, I have not yet mounted the aileron to confirm the throw. This will allow me to make a final adjustment when the installation is done.
I then proceeded with the main event of the day...the installation of the right wing landing light! Man it was tough making the first cuts in the skin for the light. I used my pnuematic nibbler and then hand shears and a file to finalize the opening. I then installed the frame in the wing and located it on the bottom skin (using the nose of the sub-rib as an alignment guide). I drilled and clecoed the spar (but not the sub-rib) in place.
Wiring conduit installed
Aileron bellcrank and control rod installed. Aileron stop riveted to spar but not on the bottom
