Brief Description:  finish left jury strut and 1st engine start!!!!

Finished left side jury struts but messed up while doing it so I have to order some more aluminum rods to finish the right side . Rolled the plane outside, tied it down and prepped it for 1st start up. I yelled, "CLEAR!!!" I turned the key and nothing... not even a clcik. Starter wiring maybe??? Grabbed screw driver and shorted across the solenoid and it cranked. I had one of the local
pilots watching and comformed that the prop moved. So what the hell I did it again, for longer this time, and BAM she started up!!! She ran and too high of an RPM so I shut her down quickly. In the exictment I did not look at the RPM reading on the EIS nor was I prepared to do so. I wanted to start her again, so I did. This time I let her run for 2 minutes and she was turning 4000+
RPMs, WOW. I shut her down and check for leaks, none!. So I put her away fo rthe night.
