Brief Description:  Left Elevator

Today I had a few hours to go to "the hanger" so I went out and unclecoed the left elevator. I spent a great deal of time deburring, edging, and preparing the ribs, spars, and internal components for priming I machine countersinked 606 trim spar and the front spar for the flush rivets to make the rudder horn flush. I then primed all the parts while the parts were drying I read up on the procedures for assembly. I realized that I had not installed the trim reinforcement plate to the skin. I decided to attach the platenuts on the reinforcement plate while I had good access. I dimpled them and then backriveted them to the reinforcement plate. I then backriveted the reinforcement plate to the trim skin. I counterskined the holes to attach the 606 coverplate and fastened it in place. The next step is to fasten some blocks to set in place to bend the trim cut out tabs. That will be in next session.
