Brief Description:  Assembly of parts

I purchased an O-320 core from Fred Masterson of Southern Sky Aviation in Alamba. The crankshaft was deemed to be good so the crankshaft was sent off to Aircraft Specialties in Tulsa, Oklahoma an was served to yellow tag specs with the mains and rod journals ground to .003

The crankcase and accessory case was sent off to Divco and cleaned, mag'ed, thru bolts installed and the mounts were reground for dynafocal. The crankcase had no cracks and did not require any welding or additional repairs. The crankcase was yellow tagged and shipped back to me.

The accessory case was cleaned, mag'ed and the new cam mod was done per AD and the accessory case was yellow tagged and sent back to me.

I sent all of the internal iron parts to Divco and three of the rods were scrap so I purchased three new ones from Divco and the fourth one was served along with all of the other internal parts served back to Lycoming specs, and sent back to me.

The cylinders were sent off to Seth Record at Performance Aircraft Parts in Berryville, Arkansas and all four were cracked and in Seth's words, "very tired" and needed replacing. That will be a later purchase.

Since I needed to have the engine installed to begin fitting the cowling on the airplane, I deceided to go ahead and order the parts needed to begin putting the crankcase and accessory case together.

Over the Christmas break I ordered gaskets, bearings, seals, oil pump housing, oil pump gears, oil pump crankshaft, fuel pump plunger, rod bolts, camshaft, tachometer shaft assembly, seal, and bushing, bolts and shear nuts that were manditory replacement parts in preparation for engine case assembly from Seth at Performance Aircraft Parts, Inc.
