Brief Description:  Fuselage Tail Area

Horizontal tube to attach the two frame at Sta 73 3/8 was prepared by cutting a 5/8 x 0.035 tube and trimmed at both end. It fit but it seems that there is a gap. Probably the left over tack weld block the tube for a proper fitting. It was presumed that when doing the tack weld after heating it the tube will fit nicely. Redid the horizonatl diagonal at Sta 115 3/8 and trimmed both end for a good fitting. Once completed, the diagonal between Sta 73 3/8 and 115 3/8 is readied by cutting the 5/8 x .035 tube and than trim both end. It's took quite awhile due to the angle trimming. Fitting was a problem due to the frame movement (expanded) but somehow after adjustment it fit. Another diagonal between Sta 115 3/8 and Sta 154 3/8 was cut and trimmed at both end. Adjustment was made to fit all the diagonals and the horizontal tube at Sta 115 3/8 made very difficult due to the frame somehow it expanded. During adjustment the horizontal bar ( top -inverted position) sta 14 3/8 drop off. Adjustment and re positioning was made and is not satisfactory. A wire was than wrapped around the tube and contracting it by using a handle. Once the tube fit nicely, it was than clamped. At Sta 115 3/8, the same is used but cannot do the clamping satisfactorily. Will try the next time.
