Brief Description: Step 2-3 Skinning VS and riveting
Clecoed skin to front spar and ribs, It took about 1.5 hours to skin, took some effort to properly run the skin around nose and tip ribs. There is good view thru nose rib of 3 factory heads of the rivets for VS -707 rib, however I also took some pictures of the rivets if there are any questions during inspection. Note: even if one of the skins would be left unriveted there is still limited view of the rivets. As per drawing, started riveting skin from intersection of front spar and VS-707 rib. First rivet was set with 45 psi and it felt like it was too much. Dialed down rivet gun to 30 psi and became much easier to set rivets. Drawing calls for 3.5 rivet, which with good view would be fine, but with limited view I went with 4.0 rivet to make sure that shop heads are to spec. No problems using longer rivet.
