Brief Description:  Weight and balance

I used the front of the wing leading edge as my datum and dropped a plumb bob to the ground from which point I was able to measure the main gear at 6.25" and tail wheel at 153.75"
The engine was positioned on the bed mount at 6.5" from the firewall.

Gross weight with me in it came to 521.4lbs

The aft CG for the LE is 1/3 the chord back from the leading edge or 18.33". At gross weight (2 full fuel tanks) the calculated CG is 18.41" which is just ,08" outside the rear limit.

Moving the engine forward 0.5" will have the CG right on the aft limit. From reading I have done, some LE's flying in the forward range of the CG find the landing flare difficult and need the application of power to raise the nose. I'd rather get it right now with a bit of testing than have to add weight in the tail area to move the CG further back.
