Brief Description:  Cables

Before running the cables I had to align and finally drill the tubes that hold the horizontal stabilizer as well as the elevator horn. This took a surprising amount of time. Everything is bolted together with whatever length bolts I have at hand and when I am satisfied with the setup I will pull everything apart, paint what needs to be painted, substitute bolts for clevis pins where appropriate (saves weight) and use correctly sized bolts where warranted.
Got a loan of a swaging tool and proper cable cutters from a good friend and fellow aircraft builder Dave. He currently flies a Long-Ez and is building a second for a World trip. Our aircrafts are at opposite ends of the spectrum however our passion for the build is the same. Making good nicopress terminations is a breeze with the right tools and some patience.

The elevator cable exiting the rear of the control column runs very close to the tube itself so I 'machined' a timber spacer from a broom handle.

The turnbuckles for the elevator have been set just behind the seat and at a length that neither will touch the diagonal bracing tube or fairleads on the cross tubes (yet to be made) when the elevators are at full deflection. Safety wiring will be done when the aircraft is fully rigged.
