The firewall tubes are bolted using AN4 bolts so the firewall itself will become part of jig for the mount.
I have screwed timber to the fuselage and ring mount which is 7-1/2" forward of the firewall. The previous weight and balance suggested 7" forward was the way to go, however that was with a heavy 10lb temporary mount.
