Brief Description:  Rubber bushings

The roto-molded tanks have 1/2" holes drilled where the elbows come out. Rubber bushings are pushed into the holes and then the elbows are inserted through the bushing to make a well sealed fit. Thankfully I ordered spare bushings as I managed to tear 3 in the process and this was even when lubing the elbows in oil. Just as they were about to push through the other side, the rubber would rip apart.
Having seen the acceptable practice of safety wiring the fuel hoses to the barbed fittings I decided to do the same. A double loop or safety wire in the valley of the fitting with 6-8 turns per inch using the safety wire pliers and leaving a 'pig tail' of about 1/2" which is then crimped over. Job done and lighter than worm gear clamps.
