Using cardboard to where the fabric has been glued to the bracing stops the heat gun from from loosening the adhered grip. A zig zag pattern over the fabric shrinks it until nicce and tight.

Oratex comes pre-coloured and I have chosen 'antique white'
Having never covered anything before, I found the Oratex method to be quite easy as long as you follow their instructions There are some good videos on youtube and here is one I used as a reference -

I found shrinking the fabric easier with the heat gun instead of the iron but I tried both to get a feel for what works. The first elevator took about 3 hours to cover. The second took maybe 90 minutes to 2 hours and was so much easier. As with anything, practice makes perfect.
What I love about Oratex is that it is just so simple. Apply glue first, cover second and then heat third. Job finished! No filling, no sanding, no UV protecting, no painting, no sanding, no painting.......
