My welding has improved with practice and taking my time. This cluster still needs the steel strap to be welded in place. My grandfather (ex WW2 Australian Airforce) would be proud. He is on the right and his father (Australian Army) on the left in the photo. Not being one to waste anything, I throw all the short pieces of welding wire that are too short to hold on the floor in the corner. I then gather them together, unfold the bent over ends and tack them together to make another welding rod.
