I found it much easier to get the diagonals into place by feeding them in from beneath the rear spar. Only minimal flexing of the wing was needed to have them pop into place.
Wedges are cut to spread the forces of the diagonals along the bottom spar cap. I have added 1/8" thick ply gussets on top to reinforce these joins.
