Brief Description:  Riveting right leading edge assembly to spar.

I have been working a lot, and traveling some, and had to brush up and present a seminar on fire pumps, so the plane work has been spotty at best. I did decide that I would rather rivet the ribs to the spar with the head on the rib (thinnest) side, which would mean back riveting from the rear of the spar, and bucking the universal rivet head from inside the leading edge. I drilled a 3/16 hole in a small bucking bar to contain a universal head set, but found that it was not heavy enough to buck the AD4 rivets. So, I took the heavier flush back riveting bar and drilled it, and placed the set in the hole. It worked much better. I was able to do the end ribs, and the first interior rib by myself, but the two center ribs were too far in to be able to reach the bucking bar and the rivet gun at the same time. So, today is Easter, and we had several family groups over, including our high school and college Granddaughters who insisted on hunting for Easter eggs with the other kids. Some things you just never get too big for, I guess. Our neice's husband, Troy, and their son came over as well, and I recruited Troy to learn to buck rivets. Got one of the interior ribs done, one is left, but I will probably have to drive it from behind the spar, and buck the plain end from inside the LE. Since the top skins are clecoed on to help hold everything square and aligned properly, it is not possible to squeeze the spar to leading edge skins on top, but the bottom skins are off so I went ahead and squeezed all the bottom spar to leading edge skins in place. Looks good. Steve is coming over tomorrow night to help with the last rib rivets, and perhaps we will be able to put the tank on and get ready to rivet the top skins. That would be neat, I am about 2 years behind schedule now.
