Brief Description: More tank prep
|
|
A while back, I saved an aluminum bottle, with the thought of using a bit of it for a non-structural part somewhere in the airplane, just for the hell of it. Yes, you may call me wierd, everyone else does. Cut out a little tab from it with the idea if using it for the little clip that holds the tank vent line in place adjacent to the filler neck. But, when I found that I could bend it around the vent tubine with my fingertips, Idecided it was a little too flimsy for that. So, I decided to use the one from the old tank, along with the vent line from the old tank as well. I had to do a little surgery on the end ribs to get the vent and the support out of the old tank, but saved the bending and flaring involved with making new ones.

Prospective vent line support. Cool, but...

Aluminum tab bent into tank vent support. Seems a little flimsy, I will re-use the old one instead.

Surgically removing the vent line from the old tank.
