Brief Description:  Continued adjusting aileron, pushrod & flap

After getting the aileron on the hinges, and the pushrod installed, it was time to adjust the pushrod length. Van's supplies a bracket that holds the bellcrank in the neutral position, then the pushrod is adjusted until the aileron is also in the neutral position.

After getting the pushrod length adjusted, I put the flap in place, in the position that appeared correct according to the drawing, i.e., the left edge of the flap aligned with the left edge of the flap brace. That left a gap between the aileron and flap that looked too wide to suit me, so I emailed the tech guys at Van's and asked them about it. The answer was to adjust the flap position until a 1/4" gap was attained.
