The thought of cutting the angles that attach the end plates to the spar had been haunting me, so I played hooky for a while and cut them out on the bandsaw. Then I just had to finish them and drill them to the end plates and the spars. Almost messed up, I drilled the plates to the angles without aligning the plate to the end rib; I had not read enough ahead in the directions to see that the end rib had a hole that aligned with the rod end attach hole in the plate. Fortunately, they came out real close; one was right on and the other was about 1/32" off center, so I had to sand off the lower edge of the end plate to prevent it from pushing the skin away from the rib. No harm, no foul.
Tomorrow it will be back to the grunt work, smoothing and polishing the edges of the spars and ribs that I deburred before OSH, so I can start assembly of the skins and ribs.
