Brief Description:  Corvair cylinder assembly clamps

In order to Teardown and re-assemble the Corvair engine, you need to rotate the crank when removing the rod bolts. since the heads are already removed, there is nothing to hold the cylinders in the case. turning the crank can cause them to push out and allow the piston skirts to jam against the case on the return stroke.
Therefore, these clamps were made to hold the cylinder in place.

I had some scrap hardwood and pvc pipe lying around, so that is what i used.

layed out the holes to match the head studs diagonally across the cylinder. PVC tubes were cut to match the length of their respective head studs. Long on top, short on bottom.

I counterbored the wood blocks so the PVC would fit tight and have a solid surface to rest on.
