Brief Description:  Tailcone Alodining

Time to Alodine. There are a lot of long thin parts to alodine (e.g. stiffeners) so I made some treating trays from some cheap vinyl gutters. The gutters were about $5 each, and the drains cost almost as much. The end caps aren't really meant for this, they have exactly the same cross section as the gutter. I clamped them in place and used a lot of PVC cement to seal the gaps. I drilled the holes for the drains as low as I could to get all the liquid out. Everything worked great, no leaks anywhere when filled with water. There are three trays, one for Alumaprep, one for Alodine, and the clean water tray to go in the middle for rinsing.
