Brief Description: Bulkhead B Form Block (outside)
This was my second attempt to create a form block, using the remains of the previously failed Bulkhead C form block. Using graphite-colored tracing paper and the full-size diagram for Bulkhead B on Sheet #4 of the UltraCruiser Plans, I copied the form onto the block of .75 inch MDF. Once the trace was made, I cut the block down within 5mm of the line. I made several passes with a bandsaw, carefully cutting away each time. Once I was within the 5mm space, I sanded the remaining MDF down to the line using a power belt sander. After completing the sanding, I measured the center and the placed the blocks on the plans diagram to match it up. It appears to be within .5mm of the diagram size. Note: I have not yet cut the center of the form block out yet as I will continue to cut other bulkheads before attempting an internal cut. Possible tools to complete this include using a router, a drill with a cutting bit, or drill entry holes and use a jigsaw.
