Brief Description: Bending the tailcone side skins
Rolled the bends in the lower section of both tailcone side skins as follows:
1. Constructed a fixture from part of a shipping crate and reinforced it with some 2x2's and 2x4's. Some 2 1/2" "U" bolts were attached just a few inches wider than the tailcone skins. Aluminum roof flashihg was attached to the surface where the bending would take place to protect the skin and reduce friction. Holes were drilled in the 2" EMT and strapping tape was used to hold the skin while performing the bend.
2. Torque was applied to the EMT, rolling approximate 180 degrees to account for the "spring back" in the skin and resulting in a 90 degree bend.
