Brief Description: LH wing - fuel filler and sender holes
Cut holes in top skin of LH wing as follows:
1. Measured position of tank filler neck and placed a mark on the inside of the top skin (still clecod to wing frame). Drilled a 3/32 hole at the mark.
2. Covered fuel tank filler opeing with masking tape and inserted tank in to wing bay.
3. Using a 3/32 drill bit, pushed the bit into the drilled hole from the outside of the skin into the masking tape.
4. Removed tank and measured distance / bearing from center. Placed another mark on the inside of the wing skin corresponding to the correction. Drilled a 3/32 hole, followed by a step bit to 3/8"
5. Cut a 4.125" hole with a fly cutter. This was possible without removing the skin.
6. Clamped the scupper retainer ring in place on the hole and drilled to #40, inserting clecos as I drilled.
7. Cut hole in scupper to fit tank filler net. Test fit OK.
8. Repeated the hole center location process on the fuel sender hole. Used the fly cutter to cut a hole matching the round inspection plate.
9. Clamped the inspection hole ring in place, drilled to #40 and cleco'd. Enlarged holes to #30.
Skins now ready for removal, and wing is ready for final prep and assembly.
