The Rans instructions direct installation of all forward VS spar components prior to setting the 71 degree angle between Rib #7 and the forward spar. I found it easier to remove all but the VS Plate and Rib #7 from the front spar. This removed the unnecessary components while setting the 71 degree angle for Rib #7 and allowed the spar to laid flat on the work table. Fewer parts to deal with made setting the angle much simpler, and I was able to use the work table as a reference. I then clamped the two VS Rib Stiffeners to the rib and spar. Since some of the clecos needed to be installed on the rear of the front spar, I found it easier to overhang the work table and place the rib facing up to set the 71 degree angle. Due to this technique, I had to use 109 degrees. I then drilled the required holes in the #7 Rib, VS Plate, and Front Spar in #40 holes, replacing clamps with clecos and rechecking the 109 degree angle as I drilled. The rest of the components to the front spar were reattached and are now ready for transfer drilling to #30 before continuing with the remainder of the steps.
