Brief Description:  Rudder/Brake Pedals

Finally getting back to the airplane factory...life has just been getting in the way, hopefully more consistent these days.

I never liked the way the Zenith designed the bearing supports for the brake/rudder pedals...it was metal on metal.

I bought some bearings from McMaster Carr, item # 5912K7. Had to trim the doubler on the pilot side cabin floor that they mount to and drill some 5/16 holes for the bolts that hold them. Because the pilot side extends beyond the doubler I had to add a washer underneath to take up the space...you can see that in one of the pics. The castle nuts are temporary in the pics.

The bearings work really well, extremely smooth movement, the beauty of this mod is that it really adds very little time to the project and the improvement is immense. Two of the bearings cost $36.
