Well I've spent a lot of time on this part. Installed it per plans and it was too tight...I could see that it was pushing the fuselage sides outward and although I could rotate it...the tightness was unacceptable. After investigating, I found the measurement from side to side of the fusleage to the bearing blocks (without the tube part installed) was 871MM. The tube, measured between the tabs was 876MM...essentially 3/16" too much and believe me it makes a difference. I tried sanding the green bearing blocks...next to impossible, definitly Kryptonite!!
I ended up grinding the tabs off and I fabricated new tabs...I kept them 1"+ long so they'd be easier to manage while welding, after they're attached I'll cut them down. Welding them tomorrow.
Attached the aluminum control horns along with the UHMW washers and the 1/2" steel bushing....used Never Sieze between the bushings. Tightened just enough so there was no slop in any direction. Need to finalize with cotter pins.
