The recessed components are ready. I matched drilled the cover plate to the rivet holes already drilled in the tank. Then I drilled the cover plate for the recessed holder. The recess is made from a 3" aluminum cylinder that is 1/8" thick. The bottom of the recessed holder is a flat piece of aluminum plate that is 3/16th" thick. I used the sender gasket as a template to drill the holes in the bottom of the recessed holder and then I tapped them for a 1/4-20 thread for installation of the holder using 1/4-20 cap screws. Everything will end up getting riveted together using pro-seal fuel resistant sealant and closed end rivets. More to come...
