Mounted the wing tip. Played around with the fit on the leading and trailing edges to try and eliminate gaps. The trailing edge gap was easy, just trim off about 1/4" where the tip meets the aluminum.
The front was a task. I made a washer out of a piece of steel tubing and used a K Lok 1/8 cleco to "pull" the plastic wing tip into the leading edge. This eliminated most of the gap at the leading edge. I also added a stiffener strip on the inside of the trailing piece of the plastic tip to give it more strength. Carefully trimmed the front part of the tip to match up with the back part...trimming a little bit at a time otherwise I think i would have cut off too much.
Feels great to have the wing done and just in time...Debbie and I are leaving Sunday to spend 2 weeks in St John, US Virgin Islands. Back on April 4.
