Brief Description:  Hung Horizontal Stab

This fits quite neatly in the brackets on top of the fuselage and it's a matter of confirming certain measurements/angles are correct. First to make sure it's perpendicular to the fuse I measured diagonally from the opposite wing attachment to the edge of the stab where the elevator would go...the measurement was exact from each side. Next to make sure it is level, side to side to the plane. I used the smart tool digital level to take a reading on the cabin horizontal steel tube...it read -.1 degrees, I then moved the level back to the stab, at the aft edge, right in te middle...it was close but I ended up filling a bit off the pilot side support until I got it perfect and both measurements matched. Last was to make sure the stab had the proper incidence in realation to the plane, the plans call for 0 degree to -1 degree tolerance (in other words level or pointing slightly down). At the cabin I took a reading of 2.4 degrees. The reading back at the stab using the two tooling holes in the tip...(enlarged those tooling holes to 1/4" and used two 1/4" clecos to support a straight edge I could rest the digital level on) was 2.6 degrees...so pointing up in relation to the cabin, so not correct. I kept filing down the two front support brackets, a little at a time until I was negative of the cabin measurement by 1/2 degree, so the stab ended up at 1.9 degrees while the cabin was at 2.4. Then I carefully drilled pilot holes and enlarged to 3/16.

Also installed the vertical fin top and lower fuselage brackets.
