Brief Description: Up & Down Stops and Mass Balance
First the elevator should go up 28 degrees and down 18 degrees, + or- 2 degrees for both. Well the down stop was easy enough, I filed the elevator angle down a bit and then thought it would be a good diea to have it bang against plastic bearing material instead of aluminum, so I made a small part that I will rivet in place when I remove the H-Stab. The up stop I made 3 different times. The part Zenith gives you seemed very small to me and they want it connected with three rivets, so first I made one out of plastic bearing angle but then figured I should make it aluminum so I made it substantially stronger than the part provided. Need to order some SS A5 rivets with a grip range over .30, since the material I made the part from is thicker than what Zenith provided.
I had previously painted the steel mass balance parts. I used all provided except one thick one and the elevator balamced out really well.
