My big nose tire is an Air Trac 8.00 x 6.00 tire and is bigger than the standard nose wheel offered by Zenith for the STOL gear and would rub up against the upper bolts...so an extension needs to be added. This has been done by many CH750 STOL builders who want the larger tires, so I simply copied what many have done before me. So it took me a very long time to make these extensions, they match perfectly and the mounting holes for the axle match perfectly...lots of measuring and clamping, then finally drilling. Because the extensions were added to the outside of the nosewheel flange and were 3/16" thick on each side, I had to add 3/16" spacers that were the same diameter as the aluminum axle covers, to take up the space. Came out great.
