Brief Description: continue ground testing - no pics
In thinking about my problem from last session, I had made up a list of things to check out. The top 2 were to pull plane outside to ensure GPS satellite acquistion. The second was to review AP settings in G3X, specifically roll and pitch settings.
GPS satellites was not the issue. Trim and pitch servos were the issue and had 0.00 gain. Don't recall the torque values, but both did have torque settings (were not zero). After entering some additional torque (too much!), and gain more than zero for both, the AP responded correctly to commands.
Continued with Garmin manual ground test checklist. Put cowlings back on and finished condition inspection. Still need to do both logbook entries.
Ready for call with Jason at Aerotronics on Monday. He had instructed me to call him once the physical installation was complete: To make sure I didn't mis-understand anything. Then, go fly and do in-air calibration settings.
