Brief Description: hang rudder and mount both brackets - tight quarte
Not much to show for 3 hours work. Top bracket washers and nuts were near impossible to tighten down. Ended up grinding access hole slightly larger and even then it was a challenge. Then, after all that, it seems the the aft surface in the rudder close out was not parrallel to the wing skin. That led to a bracket leaning down, rather than perpendicular to rudder aft edge. That translated into needing to add 5 flat wahsers for spacers.... not good. Undid all the top brackets bolts and added 2 AN370 flat washers under lower bolt... that shimmed the bracket back to where it should have been. Will still need 2 flat washers at bearing for proper spacing. Bottom looks good... maybe 1 spacer washer. Need one washer at each bracket anyway to capture bearing in place.
Going to use drilled shaft bolts and castle nuts with cotter pins on this control surface.
after shimming; 2 washers at hinge
no washer yet, may add 1 between hinge and bearing
