Brief Description: Tank prep, attack stiffners, fuel drain
Clean, scotch brite, and clean again with MEK the skin surfaces where stiffeners, ribs, gas cap, and drain will attach. After everything is clean and ready I attached the stiffeners to the skin by back-riveting.
Attached the fuel drain to the skin as well. Ran out of pro-seal at that point and it was time to cook dinner so I tossed in the rivet gun for the day, cleaned up, and made my log entries.
I discovered that sqeezing rivets that are coated with pro-seal is nasty business. Better to use my tunsten steel bucking bar and use it as a 'back plate' of sorts and back-rivet those as well. Attempting to squeeze cost me 2 drill-outs. With the black death coating them that was NOT a fun job.
