I made my bender out of 2 x 6 x 8. For some reason when I went to HD to get the lumber I was thinking of 2 x 6's and thats what I grabbed instead of the recommended 2 x 8's. So I went ahead and used the x 6's and seemed to work just fine. On advise from another builder, I used piano hinge instead of door hinges. I added a couple 1 x 2's for handles and cut off a few inches at each end for clamps. The bender works well for about 90% of the bend. The last 10% I used a hand seemer to tighten the radius, the same as many other builders.
