Brief Description:  V Stab Structure and Skin

Cleco'd spar doubler and hinge brackets to rear spar. Fluted ribs and cleco'd to front and rear spars. Final sized spar doubler, hinge and rib attach holes. Cleco'd on skin and final sized all skin attach holes. Disassembled and deburred holes and finished edges. Dimpled lower holes on the forward face of the rear spar per drawing and counter-sank matching holes in the rear spar doubler. Dimpled skin attach flanges and skin. Vertical stab parts ready for treat and paint.

Note: It apears the previous owner of this tail kit was building a nose dragger and the 2 fuselage attach holes at the bottom of the rear spar were already drilled. These holes are located more toward the center of the spar for a tail dragger than they are for a nose dragger. My first thought was to fill these holes, but this would leave about 1/2 inch spacing between the fuselage attach holes and the filled holes. After checking the price of a new spar, doubler and hinge bracket, the $45 dollars made this a non-issue and replacements were ordered from Van's.
