Brief Description: Fitted Forward Skin Over Forward Ribs
Referring to steps # 38 to 44, I fitted the forward skin over the forward ribs. This was the most difficult task so far in the construction of this kit. I spent a LOT of time making sure that the forward skin fit properly over the ribs. I was aware that other kit builders had problems getting the forward skin to lay down properly over the ribs. I had to install and remove the forward skin many times. So many, in fact, that I ordered a pneumatic cleco installation/removal tool! I had to tighten the bend in the forward skin so that it would lay down over the front ribs without puckers.
Used a dowel to through the end of the skin to adjust the forward ribs so that the centerlines on the forward ribs were visible through the pre-drilled holes in the forward skin.
Drilled the forward skin through the forward ribs with #30 drill and clecoed the skin in place.
