Brief Description:  Assembled Rudder Frame

Finished assembling the rudder frame. This was my first assembly where I was pulling rivets. I had experimented with the pneumatic riveter on sample pieces, but I finally used it on the actual rudder.

I was dipping each rivet in primer before pulling it. It seems to me that if you are going to go to the trouble to prime the interior of the airframe, that you should also dip each rivet into primer before pulling it. It would seem to me that if you DIDN'T dip the rivets, there would be exposed aluminum edges inside the rivet holes that would not be primed... Wouldn't this be an ideal place for moisture to get trapped and start corrosion? i was really pleased with the outcome. The primer would "squirt" out of the holes and seal the rivet in the hole.

It really feels good to get to a point where I can see some progress!
