Trimmed Flange Bushing for Rudder Torque Tube. See Figure 02A-02A. The manual does not state clearly, so I called RANS. The end of the Flange Bushing opposite the flange should be trimmed so that when the Flange Bushing is inserted into the tang, it is flush with the tang. To trim the Flange Bushing, I made a jig to hold the bushing. In a piece of Delrin, I milled out a hole the same diameter as the flange on the Flange Bushing (see photo 1). I then clamped the Delrin piece into the vise. This setup will hold the Flange Bushing while I use a hand file to remove enough material so that the bushing will fit flush in the tang (See photo 2). Photo 3 shows the finished result: the Flange Bushing fits flush with the Rudder Torque Tube tang.
