Brief Description: Drilled and Clecoed Right Forward Skin to Ribs
Drilled and clecoed #40 the right forward skin to the forward ribs.
I fashioned a tool that I used to slide into the HS leading edge and "grab" the ribs so that I could position them to see the centerline that had been marked on the ribs from a previous step. This tool was made from a piece of window screen framing that I had in the shop. I used my cutoff tool to notch the framing piece so that the notch would be able to "catch" the leading edges of the ribs.
Started at the row of holes closest to the spar. Drilled and clecoed the center-most hole and worked outward toward the left and right until all holes on bottom first row were drilled and clecoed. At this point the first row of holes on the bottom right forward skin was drilled and clecoed #40 to the ribs.
Moved to the Right Top side of the HS and repeated the process. At this point the first row of holes on the right top forward skin was drilled and clecoed #40 to the ribs.
Continued to alternate from the top to the bottom side of the HS and drilled and clecoed rows, each row closer to the leading edge. Since both top and bottom right skins were clecoed (anchored) to the spar, this approach prevented "bubbles" along the ribs by "squeezing" any excess material into the region by the leading edge bend.
