Brief Description:  Cockpit Light Install (40-13)

Mostly just going through and trying to wrap up all the things I skipped past. Today I installed the cockpit light. No issues with the light install, but when I turned on the Master and the Nav Light, it was just blinking. I haven't installed the dimmer switch into the panel...I was waiting to see if it really did anything and so far nothing, except it is wired in as directed. When I touched it to the panel then and it was grounded, then the cockpit light was working. I still don't know that the dimmer does anything, so I just ran a ground wire to the dimmer and left it behind the panel. The cockpit light is working just fine. I tried it in the dark as well, but I'm not sure it will be bright enough to see everything. I will need to bring another flashlight, but it should be good once flying.

I found one issue as I was turning on all the avionics...the green light cover popped off on the auto pilot switch. One of the tabs was broken. For now I just glued it back into place the best I could, but if that doesn't hold up, then I will call for a replacement from Vans.
