Again, another situation where I ask....why did they have me install this now? I spent all that effort to squeeze by the fuel tank to get the ADAHRS installed now I realize that I need to remove the fuel tank to get the ELT installed. Especially the nut plates inside the cross bar. Seems this would have been way easier when I was installing the cross bar. Anyway, since I had to pull the tank I went ahead and sanded and repainted it. With the tank out drilling the holes and final sizing them to #19 and the adding the #40 holes was pretty easy. It was a little challenging to position the plate nuts inside to set the rivets, but I put some duct tape on the end of a popsicle stick and stuck the plate nut on that. Once in position from underneath, I would hold it in place with a cleco. This is as far as I can go on the ELT install until the paint dries.
