There was nothing too difficult about installing the doubler. I went ahead and drilled all the way through the spar cap. There was some debate on this, but I went ahead and drilled all the way though. I will try to vacuum out most of the shavings once this is all done. For the #30 holes I just kept the drill speed up and very light pressure to minimize the inside burr. For the holes through the steel horns I started with a small drill bit (#55) to create a dimple to start drilling with the #40.
