Brief Description:  Main Wheel Fairings (36A)

Working through the fairing install on the main wheels. 1st lessoned learned: I should have read ahead when installing the main axles in section 35 and installed the inboard brackets, which us the same bolts that hold on the axle. 2nd lessoned learned: make sure you read the notes on the pictures and align the axle, so the two out board holes are horizontal. This is for the outboard wheel fairing bracket. Anyway, I’m getting pretty good at removing and installing the axles/wheels now. 3rd lesson learned: make sure to prime/paint the main gear prior to installation. I think there are notes in the instructions now and the main gear legs may even come already painted. That’s still another step I need to do, so I’m not tightening anything down yet. I also started working on the nose gear fairing but realized with the beefy fork I was missing an angle piece, so I placed an order for the new piece. I later got a call from Vans telling me the design has changed a little and the old pieces are no longer available, which required me to order more parts, including the fwd fiberglass piece. They are supposed to arrive next week.
