Brief Description:  Flight Testing (PAP-F3)

It's been too long since the last nice day. I'm looking for relatively light winds, and no clouds...well I got both, but it was a little cold (15 deg F on the ground). Even with thermals on it was a little chilly in the cockpit. I think I need to block off some of the radiator, plus it will help keep the CHT temps up. The oil temps were just fine, except as I was trying to make my first climb to 10,000 ft at 60 IAS and 1/2 flaps, the oil temp got hot enough that I had to abort before 10,000 ft. I made it on my second attempt were I quickly descended and got the oil temp to about 170, then started my climb. It takes about 10 minutes to climb to 10,000. It starts out about 1500 ft/min, but slows to just over 500 ft/min at altitude. The winds were strong out of the west (50 knots) at altitude, which made my return trips slow, but ground speed was really good when heading East. It was a little bumpy today below 3,000 AGL, but once I got higher it was super smooth...two finger flying on the control stick. I'm almost done with all the test cards, but I'm not sure when it will be nice enough to go flying again. In the meantime, I'm back in builder mode and starting to work on the wheel fairings. I'm also getting quotes from paint shops.
