Brief Description:  Flight Testing (PAP-F1)

I've completed some more testing and worked though some minor issues. First the left wing is a little heavy even with full fuel and some weight in the passenger seat, which I've almost corrected by just squeezing the trailing edge of the right wing. The rudder trim needed a little more correction, so I bent the tab a little more. Also, the pitot tube bearing keeps coming loose, so a little JB weld and it should be there for life. The biggest challenge was keeping the oil temps up. It was taking forever to get to temperature and then it would drop down during takeoff. I compensated by adding some Aluminum tape to block the oil cooler. This works great, it warms up by the time I taxi out to the runway and stays warm though all phases of flight. I may end up having to figure out how much to cover up depending on the OAT, but she's running great right now. After several weeks of really poor weather I found a really nice day to get some practice in. It was beautiful, sunny, clear and light winds down the runway. A little cold, but it gave me a chance to see how the plane handles. I'm loving this plane.
