It's been a little while since I've updated this, but I've been traveling a lot for work and I did my transition training with Chesapeake Sport Pilot. The training was intense and grueling but I think I'm ready to make that first flight. The RV-12 is very different from the C-152...it takes almost no effort on the stick to get it to move and it certainly wants to leap off the runway, even on a warm day with 2 full size adults and a full tank. I can’t imagine what it will be like with just me in the plane. The training was good and we got to fly over the bay, which was cool. When I got back I saw that my official numbers were in, so I cleaned up the tail and applied the N number. It will have to be removed once I’m ready to paint, but for now it’s good to go. Next up is to get the carpets from Flightline and get some scales to get the empty weight. Then I should be ready for the inspection.
