Again, in prep for first engine start and PAP checklist completion, I’ve been going through the KAI to see what still needs to be finished up. I wanted to replace the wing electrical connection on the right side, so I started reviewing that section along with the wing tip light install. I had completed everything except wiring the light with the Molex connector. I also need to pro-seal the fiberglass wingtip and rivet it in place. I was holding off until I could test the lights. I noticed that in my garage the right wing and the electrical connection are close to each other and I could lift the win (still keeping it partially cradled in the wing stand and make the connection. So I decided to wire up the light. Unfortunately I could find anything in the KAI that talked about how to wire the connector for the lights (only the wing side). SO I checked the wire numbers and matched them up to the corresponding colors in the light paper work: Red=B212 (nav power) Yellow=B203 (strobe power) Green=B318 (strobe synch) Black=B211 (ground) Once I got the light installed and with the help of Cyndi, I lifted the wing and she pushed the connector in place then fired up the Master switch. We went through each switch, nav on and green light is working, nav/ strobe on and I see a flashing light. Landing light checks good too, steady and pulse. Fantastic…it’s nice to see that everything is working. I also did a little more work on the canopy. I think this is one area of the plane that I will never be finished with.
